About the day

Expect delicious Mexican food (all spice levels!), plenty of dancing, and breathtaking views.
Please arrive by 15:30 hrs for our welcome drinks. Since our civil wedding took place in The Netherlands, there will only be a symbolic ceremony — heartfelt, relaxed, and joyful. At 12:00 AM we will conclude the night with tacos and mariachi!

Dresscode
We kindly request formal day attire. Bright vibrant colors and patterns are encouraged. Keep in mind that during February afternoons can reach 25–28°C, while evenings drop to 10–15°C. As the venue is mostly garden, we recommend comfortable footwear suitable for grass and uneven terrain.

Transport & Accommodation

Reaching Pátzcuaro, Michoacán
If you're traveling from Europe, we recommend flying into Mexico City (AICM) — direct flights are available with KLM, Air France, and Aeroméxico. From Mexico City, it's about a 5–6 hour drive to Pátzcuaro. For a shorter trip, you can take a domestic flight to Morelia (MLM) and drive 1.5 hours from there. We highly recommend renting a car, as it gives you the flexibility to explore the beautiful surrounding villages. Public transport exists but is slower and less flexible. You can check route options: [here].

Where to stay
Pátzcuaro offers many great hotels. We've arranged special discounts with a few — see our list [here]. You can also search on Booking.com.

Getting to the Venue
La Casa del Lago is 45 minutes from Pátzcuaro. There’s parking on-site, and we’ll also provide minivan transportation for guests staying in Pátzcuaro. To reserve your spot, fill in the request form here: [here].

A 'yes' among white houses...

Their story took an unexpected turn in a narrow alley in Altea, Spain—so tight it reminded them of Guanajuato, Mexico, but with the charm of the sea and everything painted white.
They walked together, unhurried, when a phrase on the wall caught their attention:
"Y si nos perdemos entre casitas blancas?
(What if we get lost among white houses?).

When she turned around, she found him on one knee, a mix of nerves and determination in his eyes. In that moment, she knew there was nothing else she wanted more in the world.

With her heart racing, she said yes—yes to getting lost together, yes to creating their own story, yes to sharing every moment for the rest of their lives.

Let the countdown to our Mexican wedding begin!

Details of the event

We’ll celebrate in a beautiful location next to Lake Pátzcuaro,
in the heart of the state of Michoacán.

Lake Pátzcuaro is one of Mexico’s highest lakes, sitting at over 2,000 meters above sea level. It's surrounded by charming Purépecha villages and is most famous for the island of Janitzio. The nearby town of Pátzcuaro is one of Mexico’s designated Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), known for its cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, colorful markets, and vibrant artisan scene. It’s also home to rich traditions in copper work, wood carving, and Day of the Dead celebrations, making it a cultural gem of the region.
Michoacán is also recognized for its importance in the migration of monarch butterflies. February is the ideal time to visit the different sanctuaries that exist in the state.
